I am a theoretical linguist working within the framework of generative grammar and minimalism. My broad interest is syntactic structure and how it interacts with the semantic and phonological interfaces. My research concentrates on how much semantic, morphological and phonological information needs to be present in the syntactic component in order to account for properties of relative clause structure, ellipsis, degree modification, focus and topic marking. Another aspect of my research aims to examine the formal set theoretic differences between a bare phrase and a cartographic approach to sentence structure.
