Hi, my name is Aparna Das. I am currently working on a Masters thesis in studio art, Collapsing the Binary Distinctions between Body and Dress.
Beyond studies, I an a studio artist. third eye fell refers to the body of work I produce as a visual mixed media and performance artist poet: I design eco-friendly fair-trade wearable art; develop experimental performance pieces through community workshop techniques; write poetry; and host potlucks. I am currently making a big leap: committing to getting a studio.
While my forte is in pen and ink, I enjoy experimenting with video, poetry, movement and song. In my work I tend to engage issues of identity, gender, sexuality and the body politic. There is also a marked obsession with blood, bones and goddesses.
