I am a PhD candidate in Harvard Kennedy School with research interests in environment and development economics. My current research explores the welfare impact of both indoor and outdoor air pollution in India. More broadly, my research tries to understand how different economic and non-economic factors like cultural beliefs and the intra-household dynamic in a community, the physical environment (like weather and climate), and public policies affect poor people’s choices and the impact these choices have on their health and environment.
I hold an MPA in Development Studies and a Certificate in Science, Technology and Environmental Policy (STEP) from Princeton University and Post-graduate Diploma (MBA) in Rural Management from IRMA. I am a pre-doctoral fellow in the Harvard Environmental Economics Program and a fellow of Sustainability Science Center. I did research on water and energy policy in India in International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR organization, for 4 years before coming to the US for higher studies in 2005.
