Jeffrey A. Friedman is a Predoctoral Fellow in the Belfer Center's International Security Program, a Graduate Student Associate of the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, and a Ph.D. Candidate in Public Policy at Harvard University. His research focuses on the theoretical and empirical foundations of military doctrine and decision making, and has been published by International Security, International Studies Quarterly, Security Studies, Intelligence and National Security, and the U.S. Army War College. His dissertation examines why military decision makers often struggle to realize their strategic mistakes, including analysis of U.S. policy in Iraq, Vietnam, and the American Indian Wars.
