Hello! I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Government at Harvard University. My research focuses on political violence and collective memory in the People's Republic of China. My dissertation, entitled "Land and Retribution: Morality and Violence in the Early Years of the PRC," explores the process by which the nascent Chinese state mobilized popular participation in political violence during the land reform campaign (1950-1952).
During my time as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard, I have taught for undergraduate courses on research design, Chinese political economy, Chinese foreign policy, Chinese business, and economic sociology.
Before coming to Harvard, I received my B.A. in Sociology and East Asian Studies from Cornell University in 2009.
