Welcome!

I will be joining the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Montana as assistant professor starting in January 2017.

I am an atmospheric chemist studying atmospheric composition and how it is influenced by human and natural processes. I currently work as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Daniel Jacob in the Atmospheric Chemistry and Modeling Group at Harvard University. I use a combination of field observations and atmospheric modeling to investigate the origins, chemistry, and transport of air pollutants such as ozone (O3) and particulate matter (PM), and how they impact air quality and climate locally and globally.

I obtained my Ph.D in Land and Atmospheric Science from the University of Minnesota in June 2014 (worked with Prof. Dylan Millet). I had lived in Beijing for 5 years, and experienced the serious air degradation occurring in most Chinese cities. Since then I’ve determined to study atmospheric chemistry and contribute scientific knowledge for people to achieve and breathe clean air. I am also passionate about applying my study to foster more research‐based policy making.
