Learning about insects

Children are naturally curious about their environments and by showing how and why we study insects is a great way of communicating about Sciences in a fun way that offers hands-on educational experience (thanks to GSA educational resources). Bringing live specimens in the classroom, showing how to use a microscope, talking about behaviors, morphological diversity and touching upon evolutionary adaptations with simple examples such as a singing cricket is a fun way for pupils to explore and learn as scientists. Interacting and sharing with curious minds is a great way to sparkle enthusiasm about research outside the lab and it is a powerful inspiring tool for both parties.
