Welcome to the Murthy Lab!

Our research group is interested in understanding how neural circuits process information, particularly in the rodent olfactory system. We would like to know how information about volatile odorants is represented in the early sensory parts of the brain, and how this information is processed and transformed by sensory circuits. We are also keen to understand how behavioral states affect odor representation and processing. We use a variety of techniques including electrophysiology, various forms of optical microscopy, optogenetics and molecular genetics.
