I'm a postdoctoral fellow with joint appointment at Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) and John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS). I am interested in education and computer supported online learning. I build tools that engage and gauge learning in classrooms and massive open online course (MOOC). With the tools and lab studies and ethnographic work, I study factors that effect learning directly and indirectly.

Before Harvard,

I finished my Ph.D. at the Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) in 2014. While at Penn State, I studied HCI with my advisers Mary Beth Rosson and Jack Carroll. I built InstantAnnotation and CAnalytics groupware to support effective communication in collaborative tasks.

Before going to Penn State, I went to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where I earned my Bachelors degree.
