I recently finished my Ph.D. in mathematics at Harvard University working with Professor Noam Elkies. I am moving to Yale University to be a Gibbs Assistant Professor of Mathematics
Here is a copy of my thesis. This project focuses on rational point counts for del Pezzo surfaces over finite fields and combines techniques from number theory, algebraic geometry, and coding theory. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments!
I have also worked recently on a project which uses modular forms, specifically weighted theta functions, to prove a result about t-core partitions. I am currently working on a problem about bounds for the density of sphere packings in Euclidean space and for the size of linear codes over F_q^N, and on another project about counting orders in quintic number fields.
My email address is NKaplan@math.harvard.edu
