Harvard University, PhD Candidate in Environmental Engineering (2013-Present)

Working to develop carbon nanotube (CNT) water filtration membranes for electrochemical water treatment. In particular, developing mechanisms to control the morphology of the membrane materials, and using these materials for capacitive deionization applications. 

Research Hydrologist, Geo-Watersheds Scientific (2012-2013)

 

Assisted with pre-impact assessment for the proposed Susitna-Watana Dam. The study aimed to characterise baseline flow conditions for over 120 miles of the Susitna River. Tasks included installing pressure sensors and data logging equipment, conducting field surveys, and collaborating with fish and forestry studies to interpret how hydrological conditions influence riparian ecology.  Job related training: BLM Helicopter Safety Training, NRA Bear and Firearm Safety Training

Citizen Science Coordinator:                                                                                                                                                                       Organized annual science paper competition for high school, college, and graduate students to present original research at the United Nations.  Expanded program to two new conferences, established a partnership with Consiliance sustainable development journal, co-authored winning grant application for the Captain Planet Foundation.

Agents of Change:                                                                                                                                                                                             Advocated for stronger climate legislation at the 15th, 16th, 17th and 19th Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.  Coordinated policy strategies at COP 16 and COP 17.
