"We live in a dynamically evolving world in which the velocity, volume, and vectors of change are increasing. Ongoing globalization has increased the number of actively engaged and influential actors on the world stage, while planned technological evolution and disruptive technologies have increased global complexity, connectivity, and interdependency. This convergence of trends has resulted in a daunting 21st century decision-making landscape. Given this backdrop, there is less time to actively collect, analyze, evaluate, and actuate upon the burgeoning corpus of Big Data, and a core issue for leadership will center upon how to move from Big Data to Big Insights to facilitate more robust decision-making when approaching the Big Problems that necessitate Big Decisions — the realm of Robust Decision Engineering." - S. Chan
