I am an applied mathematician at Harvard University.  I work as a co-Director of Undergraduate Studies and a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics in the Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Recent research with Mary Silber and Punit Gandhi is exploring pattern formation mechanisms in the context of patterned vegetation.  This image of vegetation arcs in the Somali Haud is via google maps.
Recent research with Alanna Hoyer-Leitzel, Kate Meyer, and Mary Lou Zeeman is exploring mathematical notions of resilience in ecological systems.

Other professional interests include mathematics in the context of ecosystem resilience, effective mathematical education techniques, the role of social identity in the mathematics classroom, applied dynamical systems, and insect flight.
