Soren studies statistics, optimization, numerical methods, computer science, and some pure math in Harvard's new Computational Science & Engineering masters program. In Spring 2013 he co-founded new offline dating startup, The Dating Ring, where he now works as statistics and analytics consultant. Previously Soren worked at Columbia Business School as a research assistant to Ed Morrison, Chris Mayer, and Tomek Piskorski where he studied causal bankruptcy mechanisms and contagion over mortgage markets. While at Columbia, Soren studied measure theory with Ioannis Karatzas and stochastic calculus with Philip Protter. Soren graduated with honors in 2011 from Swarthmore College with honors major in economics, honors minor in music and course minor in mathematics. Soren focused heavily on classical saxophone performance at Swarthmore; he won Swarthmore's concerto competition in 2010.
In his free time, Soren enjoys boxing, inline speed skating, and thinking about well-written and produced popular music.
