I am an evolutionary biologist at Harvard University and a member of the Skeletal Biology and Biomechanics Lab at Harvard University. I am currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Human Evolutionary Biology, where I work with Professor Dan Lieberman and Professor David Pilbeam on the evolution and biomechanics of bipedalism.
For my research, I take an interdisciplinary approach to studying how phenotypes change in response to environmental constraints and how these changes give rise to complex social and biological identities within hominid species. I explore how evolutionary processes have affected human evolution by studying the origins of bipedalism and human post-cranial morphology and physiology.
Specifically, I am interested in investigating the evolution, biomechanics and physiology of the human breathing apparatus and thoracic morphology while researching diseases that arise due to ‘mismatches’ between modern humans and our rapidly changing environments.
