The Vision

My work focuses on leveraging science and innovation to positively impact the lives of children with devastating surgical conditions around the world. Children around the world are suffering from "rare" diseases that are considered "too challenging or complicated." They are left to navigate the healthcare system as medical nomads, constantly seeking to find someone who can help solve their conditions.Conditions such as vascular anomalies of the head and neck region, or NOMA, cause millions of childrens to suffer from debilitating disfigurment and even death.

My goal is to be solution-driven and have maximum impact. My background in engineering, design, innovation/startups, and expertise in global surgery and conditions related to the head and neck region informs the lab's projects. I have bold ideas and I collaborate across disciplines, nonprofits, governments and industries in order to achieve them.  



Current Projects

The lab's current research, solution development, and partnerships include the following:

  1. Vascular Anomalies Severity Scale (VASS): Head and Neck

  2. Facial orthotics for patients with vascular anomalies with pre and post surgical care application

  3. Ultrasound guided surgical dissection for vascular lesions

  4. Keyhole surgical technique for vascular control in patients with facial vascular anomalies

  5. Minimially invasive osseous structure ablation in patients with vascular anomalies

  6. Identifying dental access and oral health needs of vascular anomalies patients across the United States

  7. Capturing the education in, exposure to, and management of vascular anomalies in dental training across the United States

  8. Surgical innovation projects and curriculum development with medical colleges in South India

  9. Surgical Innovation Fellowship (SIF) at Boston Children's Hospital

  10. Vascular Anomalies Photo Capture Application for IOS/Android

  11. Vascular Anomalies Coordination and Management Platform: A partnership with Cura Technologies

  12. Vascular Anomalies Image Digital Amplification and Characterization
