Curriculum Vitae

I am an Academy Scholar at the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies. Starting fall 2013, I will be Assistant Professor at the School of International Service at American Univeristy (Washington, DC).

I obtained my Ph.D. in political science at the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) in August 2009. My research focuses on subnational democracy in Argentina and Mexico, subnational institutions and federalism in Latin America. My work has appeared or is forthcoming in the Journal of Politics in Latin America, Studies in Comparative International Development, Latin American Research Review, Journal of Democracy (en Español), Revista de Ciencia Política (Chile), among others. I have been the co-winner of the 2010 Juan Linz Prize for Best Dissertation in the Comparative Study of Democracy awarded by the American Political Science Association.
