I am a Lecturer/Advisor in the Economics Department at Harvard University. I teach a course on immigration, and a senior thesis research seminar. I served as the Head Section Leader for Ec 10 for 2015-16 and 2016-17.

My main research interests lie in the field of immigration. Some of the questions that interest me are: what is the relationship between immigration and crime? How does a parent's legal status affect his/her offspring's outcomes? What effects do immigration policy and enforcement have on immigrants and their families? I am also interested in some questions in the field of education, for instance, do student evaluations of instructors provide information on instructor quality, or do they betray biases? In the college setting, what drives instructor performance? How does instructor performance affect a student's trajectory?

I received a Ph.D. in Economics from UC Berkeley (2008), a Master's in International Development from Harvard (2002), and a BA from Swarthmore College (1997). I dabbled in finance for a few years before graduate school (1997-2000), and prior to joining Harvard, I was a lecturer at Wellesley College (2008-2012).
