Bio

Armín Fardís is a writer and educator born in Iran and raised in the Bay Area (Northern California).  Dr. Fardís' research emphasizes longue durée and transnational social histories of anticolonialism and mass incarceration. In 2020, he defended his dissertation "Carceral Marronage and Mutations in Colonialism" at Harvard's Department of African and African American Studies. Before Harvard, Dr. Fardís received a Masters, with distinction, in Sociology from the London School of Economics. Dr. Fardís is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Writing and Fellowships at Harvard where he is working on his next project which is a social history of anticolonialism and mass incarceration in California.
