Research interests: Latin literature, especially 4th century A.D. onwards; Roman North Africa; Biblical interpretation; Latin Platonism; Augustine of Hippo and his reception
Adam Trettel was born in Crown Point, Indiana and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. Appointed College Fellow in Fall 2018, he completed a B.A. in Humanities at Yale University (2010), followed by an MTh and PhD in Ecclesiastical History at the University of Edinburgh (2013, 2018). From 2015 - 2017, he was a visiting student at Eberhard-Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany. Before graduate school Adam worked as a housing coordinator for a refugee organization in Connecticut (2011-2012), and at the end of the PhD as an intern for the Bishop of Coventry, England (2017-2018).
