I'm Mustafa Bal, an undergraduate at Harvard University graduating in May 2019 with a joint bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Linguistics. In the past, I've interned in tech (Microsoft, IBM Research T.J. Watson Research Center, Sierra Nevada Corporation, Scientific and Technological Institute of Turkey) and research (Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology CS Research Lab, George Mason University Volgenau School of Engineering Robotics Lab). Other than classes, I'm involved in the Harvard Computer Society, Harvard Undergraduate Blockchain Group, TEDxHarvard College, Harvard Crimson, and the Harvard Turkish Student Association.
I grew up in Ankara, Turkey and McLean, VA, where I graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in June 2015. Outside of academics, my hobbies include volunteering, contributing to Wikipedia articles, swimming and playing soccer. I'm also interested in learning & discussing about international politics and philosophy.
