Hesiod and his cults

I investigate connections between Hesiodic poetry, especially the Works and Days, Hesiod’s cults and inter- and intra-polis struggles of the Archaic and Classical periods. I examine traces of Hesiod’s multiple cults in Hesiodic poetry. I also attempt to reconstruct political functioning of Hesiod’s cults, and to gain insights into the historical emergence of the Works and Days.
