Art and Life in Ife

The texts of my forthcoming book manuscripts on Ife Art are available for interested scholars.

AfricaMap, co-chaired with Peter Bol, Director of the Center for Geographic Analysis at Harvard, (a site growing into Worldmap) is dedicated to providing the best open source cartographic data on Africa, and utilizes GIS technology to layer various mapping data (historic, socio-cultural, linguistic, geological, health, geo-political) along with an array of images, sound recordings, and videos. The site was launched in November 2008 and has established collaborations with an array of other Universities and Institutions: Yale University (Human Area Relation Files), J-stor (African bibliographic content), MIT (Archnet), Emory University (The Trans-Atlantic Trade Database), the University of Virginia (Slavery Image Databae), University of Southern Florida (African historic climate data), Suffolk University (Afriterra), University of Iowa (Art and Life in Africa), University of Wisconsin (African City Images and Music), along with various Harvard affiliations: the Peabody Museum of Anthropology (African artifacts), the Harvard Map Library, and the Harvard Music Department.
