Bio
Bram Devolder (°1992) studied law at Ghent University (2010-2015, summa cum laude). During his studies, he worked at the Financial Law Institute as a student-assistant. He also participated, as an orator, in the Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition in Washington D.C. and followed an exclusive course on International Business Negotiations (jointly taught at American University WCL). As a student representative he cooperated in redesigning the law program at Ghent University (2014) and was a panel member of the VLUHR Flemish Educational Assessment Committee on Law (2014-2015). In 2015, Bram became a full-time assistant at the Centre for Methodology of Law at KU Leuven and started his doctoral research on regulatory disruption by the collaborative business model. To complete his PhD, he was awarded a Fellowship by the Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO) in 2017. In the context of his research, Bram is actively involved in an expert group, presided by the Belgian Ministers of Economy (Peeters) and Justice (Geens), tasked with adapting federal economic legislation to new developments, such as the sharing economy.
