I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Government at Harvard University. My research interests lie in normative ethics and democratic theory. My dissertation examines the ethics of "fighting dirty" in politics, especially when the dirty tactics are technically legal. Broadly speaking, I am interested in the line separating merely "smart" politics from ethically objectionable political gamesmanship.

Additionally, I am a pedagogy fellow at the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, where I work on developing innovative classroom interventions for teaching ethics to undergraduates at Harvard College and to graduate students at the Harvard professional schools.
