Anthony M. Casapao, is an MPH candidate with a concentrate in Epidemiology from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.  Before joining HSPH, he has worked as a clinical pharmacist with over 8+ years of experience in pharmacotherapy infectious diseases and pharmacoepidemiology.  Anthony has collaborated with multiple practictioners and institutions for research to optimize therapeutic options for patients with infectious diseases and developing stochastic models to better comprehend its pharmacotherapy use.

Concurrently, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy at the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research.  One of his passions is teaching future pharmacists and clinicians.  He effectively assesses students' capability of learning and provides a learning environment for students to apply and synthesize their knowledge.  He currently teaches at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy Jacksonville campus and practices at University of Florida Health Jacksonville Health Center as an Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy Specialist.  

While at Harvard University completing his Masters in Public Health with an emphasis of Epidemiology; Anthony is conducting research that examines antimicrobial resistance and empiric antibiotic use for urinary tract infections using large private databases.  His goal is to quantitatively and qualitatively enhance our current understanding of antimicrobial exposure response relationship in patients with infectious diseases.

Anthony holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy from Wingate University School of Pharmacy and a Bachelors in Science with an emphasis in Biomedical Sciences from Midwestern University.  He has pursued post-graduate training residencies at St. Vincent's Medical Center at Jacksonville, Florida and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He maintained his interest in infectious diseases and completed a pharmacotherapy outcomes research fellowship at Wayne State University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Detroit, Michigan.
