  • Xindi (Cindy) Hu is a data scientist at Mathematica Policy Research. Her professional interest includes applying data science tools to analyze public health problems, and providing scientific evidence for better policy making. She is trained as an environmental health scientist with special focuses on human health risk assessment and decision science. Her doctoral dissertation work focused on human exposure and associated health impacts of a group of emerging drinking water contaminants, poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs). Cindy received her Doctor of Science and Master of Science degrees, both in environmental health, from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in both environmental sciences and biology from Peking University (Beida) in Beijing, China. She is also a research associate at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
