Alessandra Anzolin, PhD

I am currently working as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging (MGH/HMS, Boston, MA). I obtained my PhD in Bioengineering in 2018 from the Sapienza University of Rome, in collaboration with the neurorehabilitation institute IRCCS Santa Lucia Foundation (Rome). The focus of my PhD project was the study and the implementation of methods for the elaboration of brain signals to identify neural correlates for different human cognitive processes. More in details, I worked with EEG signals recorded from both healthy volunteers and post-stroke patients in order to characterize some of the most important cognitive functions (e.g. memory, attention) and their recovery after a neurofeedback-based treatment. My main project at the Napadow Lab consists in a hyperscanning EEG/fNIRS study whose goal is to identify and describe the neural correlates in the Patient/Clinician relationship during pain treatment.
