I graduated from Boston University in May 2019 with a B.A. in Psychology and minors in Spanish and Core Interdisciplinary Studies. Throughout my undergraduate career, I worked in research exploring the connection between alcoholism, marijuana use, anxiety, and depression. I also studied addiction in group therapy settings in the U.S. and in Spain. At the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders, I observed patients with alcoholism undergo two types of alcohol recovery programs, Take Control and Unified Protocol. The following year I joined the MGH Center for Addiction Medicine where I studied patients applying for marijuana medical cards who experienced chronic pain and depression. Additionally, I looked at frequent marijuana consumption using fNIRS, a type of non-invasive neuroimaging. I am particularly interested in looking at the effects of addiction and mindfulness meditation and currently work on the migraine and mindfulness study at the Napadow lab. Besides my psychology background, I used my Spanish and Core minors to complete a senior capstone project focusing on Latin American Art during the colonial period of Mexico.
