I am a research associate in medicine at Harvard Medical School.
I am a senior member of the IEEE and a member of the ACM.
Prior to Harvard, I spent about two years at InfinityData in Shanghai, China.
I am a recipient of a Sa, Shixuan Best Student Paper Award (in 2012) and a NSF Student Travel Award (in 2018).
I proposed the concept of the “data industry” (in 2013) and "data capital" (in 2016), then was recognized as an advocate of Data Economy.
My first 1st-authored English paper was selected as one of the 15 candidate best papers (among 32,958 papers) in 2017 cancer informatics.
My research lies at data science along with its multiple levels of data-intensive innovations. My research career began with an innovative data-mining method built upon and applicable to various fields (e.g., finance, economics, insurance, bioinformatics, and sociology). Inspired by business operations, I implemented a theoretical innovation for data science to propose "data industry" and "data capital," which both aim to bridge the gap between data science and economics. Currently, I'm very focus on applied innovation in healthcare, and believe precision medicine is an application of the data industry.
