Bio

Christina Thompson is the editor of Harvard Review and the author of Sea People: The Puzzle of Polynesia (Harper, 2019), which won the 2020 Prime Minister's Literary Award, the 2020 Victorian Premier's Literary Award, and the 2019 NSW Premier's General History Award, and was a finalist for the Phi Beta Kappa Ralph Waldo Emerson Award, the Sigurd Olson Nature Writing Award, the Mountbatten Maritime Award, and the Queensland Literary Award. Her memoir, Come on Shore and We Will Kill and Eat You All (Bloomsbury, 2008), was shortlisted for the 2009 Douglas Stewart Prize and the 2010 William Saroyan International Prize for Writing. The recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Library of Australia, and the Australia Council, she teaches in the writing program at Harvard University Extension, where she was awarded the James E. Conway Excellence in Teaching Writing Award in 2008.
