Zara is a rising senior at Brooklyn Technical High School in New York City, where she is on track to graduate from the Advanced Health Professions major. Zara is the Director of Writing at the CVT and enjoys interviewing our passionate CVT members, drafting press releases for the organization, and publishing research articles on our Medium page to help inform the public about the socioeconomic impacts of the pandemic. Zara is passionate about the intersection between journalism and medicine, and she seeks to intertwine these pursuits in order to better improve health equity and ameliorate systemic discrimination. She is spending her summer interning at MDisrupt, a health tech advising company, where she is researching better ways to adapt value-based care metrics into the healthcare industry. This, coupled with her volunteering at the Weill Cornell Medical Center, is immersing her further into a field that she hopes to continue pursuing in university. Outside of her academic interests, Zara loves to play soccer, read novels, and spend time with her friends!
