About Me

I am a third-year PhD student in the Speech and Hearing Bioscience and Technology (SHBT) program working under the mentorship of Dr. Lisa Goodrich. My thesis research focuses on gene regulation in spiral ganglion neurons, which are pivotal in converting sounds from the world around us into brain signals. Using advanced molecular and genetic techniques, I study how transcription factors interact with and bind DNA to drive gene expression in a dose-dependent and combinatorial manner. My goal is to contribute to a more nuanced model of how gene expression is orchestrated and finely-tuned, not only in auditory neurons but potentially in other cell types as well, broadening our overall understanding of cellular differentiation and function.

In addition to my research, I am passionate about supporting a diverse and inclusive community at Harvard. I serve as co-chair of the mentoring program in the Harvard Graduate Women in Science and Engineering (HGWISE) club. If you're a researcher at Harvard (post-doc, faculty, professor) or alumni working in industry looking to make an impact through mentorship, please reach out!
