Postdoc and Research Tech positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Martin (Can) Zhang, at the Genetics and Aging Research Unit, MassGeneral Institute for Neurodegenerative Disease, Department of Neurology, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

The candidate will join a multi-disciplinary Alzheimer’s disease (AD) research team, focusing on mechanistic causes and the roles of genetic and pharmacological modulators of disease, with the long-term goal of identifying effective therapeutic strategies for AD and engaging regimens for better wellbeing and healthy aging. Specifically, the candidate will be focused on elucidating the mechanism of pathogenesis of AD on the cellular and molecular levels, and investigating pharmacological agents, particularly gamma-secretase modulators and compounds structurally related to curcumin. The studies will involve cell and animal models of AD using biochemical and electrophysiological methods for AD pathology and cognitive evaluations.

Successful candidates should possess MD/PhD degree in molecular biology and neuroscience in AD or related areas with a tracking recording of publication.

Interested candidates may send CV with brief research interest and names of 3 recommendations by email (Subject can be Post-doc or Research Tech application):  zhang.can@mgh.harvard.edu
