I am a third year PhD student in the Harvard-MIT program in Speech and Hearing Bioscience and Technology. I use fMRI to understand the neural mechanisms that underlie human perception of complex sounds, like speech and music. I am also interested in how auditory perception varies across different populations, as well as whether training can improve these abilities. I am currently working with both Josh McDermott and Nancy Kanwisher in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT.
I am also passionate about public engagement with science and improving scientific literacy in the general public. I am a Co-Director of Harvard's Science in the News organization, which works to bridge the communication gap between scientists and non-scientists.
