ENG 198: Undergraduate Research Workshop (UC Berkeley)

Semester:

Fall

Offered:

2014

How do scholars craft papers and present their work? This course focused on method for researchers in the humanities. Participants presented and workshopped abstracts, literature reviews, and drafts for their projects, and discussed strategies for reading criticism, analyzing texts, and crafting an argument. Discussion was supported by readings from major journals which were analyzed with an eye to questions of composition and methodology. The class also served as an introduction to library and database research, to Berkeley's resources for undergraduate research, and to opportunities for undergraduate publication.
