Dr. Esra Bulbul is an astrophysicist at Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian.  Dr. Bulbul's research lies at the crossroads of astrophysics, cosmology, and particle physics. In particular, it has centered on indirect searches of dark matter particle through its decay or annihilation in the X-ray band. She utilizes X-ray data from space telescopes (e.g. Chandra, XMM-Newton, Suzaku, Hitomi) with and radio data from the South Pole Telescope to study the properties and evolution of ordinary baryonic matter and dark matter in clusters of galaxies in her research. She is the co-chair of the NASA Study Team for the European Athena X-ray telescope. She is also a member of NICER, Lynx, and Strobe-X science working groups. She recently joined the eROSITA team at the Max Planck Instritute for Extraterrestrial Physics to lead galaxy cluster and cosmology science with eROSITA all sky survey.a
