Ed Hebert - Instructor at Harvard University Division of Continuing Education

Hi! My name's Ed Hebert. I'm a Lecturer in Digital Media and Web Technologies at the Harvard Extension School. That's also the place where I earned my ALM-IT in Digital Media & Instructional Design back in 2016. I also hold a BA in Psychology & Computer Science from Boston University.

My interests lie at the intersection of creative technology, digital strategy, product design, and marketing.

I teach creative coding in a course called DGMD E12 - Introduction to Creative Exploration on the Web. I teach programmatic fundamentals in JavaScript by building all sorts of fun audiovisual creations, generative art, and data visualizations. I hope you'll join us!

I'm also lucky enough to guest lecture on SVG and CSS animation in the fabulous Jen Kramer course, DGMD E-27 - Modern and Mobile Web Development II. This is the place to be if you want to learn the latest techniques for styling your layouts on the web.

I assist Jen once again in DGMD E599 - Digital Media Capstone Studio. I serve as a technical and design advisor, grader, and mentor to graduate students completing their Capstone projects in fulfillment of their ALM-IT.

Finally, I own a creative consultancy called The Blue Ocean, which delivers a variety of web, print, and digital strategy solutions for businesses.

Earlier in my career I worked in the corporate world as a product designer and development manager for Titleist, the golf company. That was lots of fun, and my team and I were fortunate to be awarded lots of patents for our work.

That's a bit about me, but I'd love to hear about you! Please don't hesitate to contact me via email or LinkedIn.
