I am a Ph.D. candidate in comparative politics at the Department of Government and a graduate affiliate at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science. I study the effects of past experiences on future attitudes. My dissertation project argues that variation in democratic inequality is caused by differences in what people think democracy means. Broadly, I am interested in the political economy of redistribution, democratization, and media politics.
In 2021-22, I am a nonresident scholar based in Vancouver, B.C.
Before coming to Harvard, I attended Stanford University and the Yenching Academy at Peking University. During the summers, I worked as a news intern and stringer in Vancouver, San Jose, Hong Kong, and Beijing.
