Description

I am currently a fourth-year medical student in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology program applying for General Surgery residency. My MD Thesis project is in the Yu Lab at the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School, harnessing computer vision methods for investigating the molecular abberations of diffuse gliomas, as well as the survival of patients with these tumors. Previously, I applied deep learning methods to renal cell carcinoma histopathology slide images for automated histopathology, clinical, and multi-omics analysis.

In both my clinical and research interests, I have been drawn to caring for patients with cancer and working towards optimizing diagnostic and management protocols to improve survival. My research interests lie at the intersection of computer science, data science, and surgery: using data-informed approaches to augment perioperative surgical decision making and tailoring surgical cancer care to the individual. Specifically, with rigorous development and evaluation, I see artificial intelligence and machine learning as a new tool that can be developed for surgeons to use at all stages of surgical management to optimize decision-making for improved outcomes.
