I am a PhD candidate in African and African American Studies at Harvard University. I hold an A.M. in History from Harvard University and a B.A. in African American Studies from Wesleyan University. My research interests include African American History, US carceral history, and the history of families. In particular, I study how the conceptualization of the relationship between crime, punishment, and family has evolved from the late 19th century to the present.
