Finance II - MBA Required Curriculum

The objective of FIN2 is to understand how entrepreneurs, managers, and firms create, destroy, or transfer value through financial decisions.  Successful financial policy means dividing up enterprise value and control in a way that allows entrepreneurs and firms to fund their operations, to create appropriate incentives, and to manage risk. FIN2 focuses on four important managerial decisions, with a module devoted to each.

  • Financing and Financial Policy: How should a company finance its activities?
  • Valuation: How can we value companies with complex financial structures?
  • Options and Risk Management: How can a company use options and other derivatives securities to create incentives, raise capital, and manage risk?
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: How can companies create value through mergers, acquisitions and divestitures?
