Dipon Das, PhD

Staff Scientist

Dipon received his PhD in cancer biology from KIIT University, India where he studied DNA damage/repair pathways. He completed post-doctoral training at Philips Institute for Oral Health Research, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia, USA. His postdoctoral training focused on identifying the host factors that are essential for the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) replication in cervical and head & neck cancers and delineating their mechanism of action. Prior to joining the Faden Lab as a Staff Scientist, he worked as a Senior Research Associate  at University of Miami.

vasileios efthymiou

Vasileios Efthymiou, MD


Vasileios graduated from Athens Medical School, Greece. Before joining the Faden lab, he was an Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery resident physician in Athens. In his free time he likes playing basketball, working out and traveling. In the Faden Lab, Vasileios is working to design next generation liquid biopsies.


Daniel Faden, MD FACS

Dr. Daniel Faden is a Head and Neck Surgiocal Oncologist and Translational Scientist. He completed residency training in Otolaryngology– Head and Neck Surgery at UCSF followed by clinical fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in both Advanced Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery and Cranial Base Surgery.  His clinical practice focuses on head and neck and cranial base cancers with a particular interest and expertise in minimally invasive head and neck cancer surgery (TORS, TOLS, endoscopic cranial base surgery). Prior to Boston, he was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholar at the National Institutes of Health/ National Human Genome Research Institute and completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh under Robert Ferris, MD, PhD.


Elisabeth Hansen

Research Scholar

Elise is a medical student at Harvard Medical School. She grew up in Oregon and attended Pomona College in California, where she received her BA in Chemistry with a minor in French. She then worked at the Pasteur Institute in Paris for a year on a Fulbright scholarship, studying laboratory surveillance of Shigella, and spent the following year at the University of Würzburg in Germany studying RNA biology in enterococcal species. She is interested in the pathogenesis of HPV+ head and neck cancer, which led her to joining the Faden lab. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, and taking care of her houseplants. She hopes to pursue a career in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.


Saskia Naegele

Research Scholar

Saskia is a medical student at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University who is spending a year in the Faden Lab. She grew up in New York City and attended Northwestern University where she received a BA in English literature. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She hopes to pursue a career in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.


Natalia Queenan

Clinical Research Coordinator

Natalia attended Barnard College of Columbia University, graduating with majors in Neuroscience and English. She wrote her honors thesis on noninvasive neuromodulation of cognition and motivation using focused ultrasound. She enjoys finding new books to read, baking for lab meetings, and hiking. She plans to attend medical school.
