Organ-Configuration Motion Sensors (OCM) for MRI and PET

In this project, single-element ultrasound transducers - called organ-configuration motion (OCM) sensors, conventional MR imaging and machine learning algorithms are combined to boost the temporal resolution of MRI from roughly one frame per second to one hundred. After the system has learned enough data, the scanner can even be turned-off, and as long as the OCM sensor is still attached to the subject, MR images can still be estimated by the algorithm. This works even outside of the scanner, paving the way for various image-guided therapy applications such as focused ultrasound, which rely on accurate information about organ motion at high frame rates.
