Ben attended the 2013 International School of Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy held in Erice, Sicily.  The focus of this year's school was nanostructures for optics and photonics, with emphases on energy conversion, sensing, imaging, and communication.  The School brings together students and experts from around the world and is sponsored by NATO.

Ben gave an invited talk from the Mazur Group at the 10th Pacific Rim Conference on Ceramic and Glass Technology (PACRIM).  His talk discussed hyperdoping and texturing of silicon and titania for solar-harvesting technologies.  

A new study, done with collaborators at Harvard and MIT, has been published in Applied Physics A that explores the use of ultrafast lasers to hyperdope silicon for photovoltaics and other optoelectronic devices.  The paper is available here or from the publications page.

Ben was recently featured on the Harvard SEAS homepage in a piece discussing his congressional visit, his research at Harvard, and his experiences in grassroots organizing.
