Guoyang Li is now a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School and Wellman Center for Photomedicine, MGH. He received the B.S. (Hons.) and Ph.D. (Hons.) in Mechanics from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2014 and 2019, respectively. His work strives to understand the fundamental mechanics of the living system and its implications in translational medicine. To achieve that goal, in part, he develops models and theories to elucidate the dynamics of active/nonequilibrium systems, with a specific focus on the mechanical wave motions and inverse problems in living tissues. Secondly, he develops mechanical imaging tools to interrogate the biomechanics/biophysics on multiple spatiotemporal scales and makes them accessible for fundamental and clinical studies. He has authored or coauthored over 35 papers in international journals.
