Notes:

The common religion variable used in the paper was miscoded for some country pairs. The new recoded variable is available, as well as the original used in the paper, in the stata dataset. This coding error does not qualitatively change the results. The main tables 3 and 4 are reproduced, comparing the effects of the coding change.
