About

Welcome! I am Fulbright Visiting Scholar (2022-2023) at Harvard's Department of Government and a PhD student in Political Science at University of Campinas.

My research interests involve political parties and elections. Specifically, how political parties are constructed internally and how organizational behavior influences electoral performance.

During my master's degree, I researched how the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB) built its dominance in the state of São Paulo during 24 years. I demonstrate the importance of the internal workings of the party to achieve so many consecutive victories - for this I used quantitative methods and conducted interviews with party elites.

During my PhD, I try to explain why a protagonist party for two decades in the national party system failed and became an ordinary player in the elections.
