I am a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Univeristy, in the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology. My research focuses on carbon and nitrogen biogeochemical cycles, especially the microbial communities that mediate carbon transformations. I take a system-level view of biogeochemical processes, and I am especially interested in the interaction of humans with the natural world.
My current projects at Harvard concern deep subsurface carbon transformations, methane seeps, and hydrothermal vent-associated microbial communities. Prior to Harvard, I studied human impacts on salt marsh greenhouse gas emissions for my Ph.D. research at Boston University, and my undergraduate thesis before that focused on climate change impacts in terrestrial grasslands.
