Ian is a computational scientist with an interest in systems and software to enable compute and data intensive science. Ian has worked for software startups, and as a policy and technology consultant for national and international organizations. After completing a PhD at Oxford (UK) working for the CERN-based LHCb experiment, Ian spent a year researching distributed option pricing algorithms at INRIA (France), and then four years at Harvard Medical School conducting research in computational structural biology. At SEAS, he is working with faculty and students to increase their use of high performance computing in courses, projects, and research.
